I have been aware of Iboga since 2017 and began working with it in early 2018 by participating in an Iboga flood dosing ceremony led by highly qualified guides, following the tradition of the Bwiti. It was an incredible experience for my mind.

Our guides explained that alcohol disrupts the effects Iboga might have on our bodies. There’s a certain magic in this plant medicine that gets simply destroyed as soon as you drink even one glass of alcohol. I was happy to completely give up alcohol, and so I did. About six weeks after the flood dose, I started microdosing for the first time.

I initially used the standard microdosing protocol and later transitioned to intermittent microdosing years later. In case you’re unfamiliar with the standard method: On day 1, you take a microdose; day 2 is when you typically feel its effects the most, especially concerning mindset and pattern changes. Day 3 is an official break day, followed by another dose on day 4. Afterwards, there are two days off before resuming on day 7, and so on.

Standard Microdosing Protocol

  • day 1: Microdose
